Brodner's Person of the Day: Hillary Cheney Clinton

October 30, 2007

Hillary Clinton

Rudy "Sox Rooter" Giuliani

On Real Time with Bill Maher this week, conservative columnist Andrew Sullivan said of her, "She wants to insulate herself on the right. People need to understand that that's what she is. She's CHENEY IN A PANTSUIT. You wait!" So, Obama, can you say that tonight in the debate so that all of Iowa can hear it?

PS: In the new book Write It When I'm Gone, Thomas M. DeFrank quotes Gerald Ford as saying that he believed Hillary is really a Republican. So, what else is new?

I think the polls are a depiction of: the Clintons having a familiar name, but also that they appear to be better than Bush. I think they are one and the same. George and Hillary both owe their souls to corporate giants. She won't be looking after the American people any more than Bush and Cheney. Hillary is there to line her pockets and obtain power. If you look closely at the history of Bill Clinton, you will look back and say; Wow! He was really a bad president. He began NAFTA, he was the one who opposed unions, Clinton's Welfare Reform bill destroyed the safety net for the poor, jobs were lost by out sourcing, clinton lowered the capital gains tax for his rich friends, and the elite rich have made Bill Clinton rich. This is a coporate state with civil liberties all but lost. Those out there who voted for George Bush, don't be fooled again by Hillary Clinton. She is self serving and does not care about you, or any other citizen in this country.

True, but we know the odds against getting to choose between Dennis K. and Ron Paul in Nov., '08. Still, these people are getting their messages out, and more people are hearing. If the scotch tape & bailing wire in the economy cease to hold before the election, even better--imagine peoeple waking up to the fact that they have nominated two irrelevant idiots, again, to lead US out of our corporate welfare/ banking-credit nightmare!!

Smart stuff. The great revelation of Clintionism is the recognition by a Democrat that the country is essentially owned by a few folks. Any social and political progress will have to come with their permission, so the logic goes. So Clinton comes along, playing extreme ball with the corps and their reps, "tiangulates" while much, much more is needed for the 98% not in that selected demographic. The major assumption is that his TV performances will bridge that gap and win elections. The problem is that she doesn't perform all that well. Look at last night's performance. She is starting to get nailed. So what will they do now?
