The time for sancitons and military action is done.It hasnt worked in Iraq and Afghanistan.its time for world leaders to take a real diplomatic approach to dealing with the Iran issue. They have spoken that they want a diplomatic solution and yet have done nothing to advance these statements

I can see how some in America could still believe Iran is a wild untamed desert country where everyone lives in tents, rides camels everywhere and a uncontainable rogue state on an unswerving path to nuclear holocaust.

There are to many in America who not only havent traveled outside of the country much less their own town or state, they dont even bother to attempt to find out what the rest of the world is like. The just assume they know it already and then cling onto anything they hear that re-enforces their assumptions. And,not to stereo type, but it seems like the Republican party as well as many who pretend to be religious where the world doesn't exist outside the pages of the bible. To them its seems like everything outside of the US is still stuck in the 18th century. So its easy for Bush to promote his agenda in this manner, as much of his base seems to already believe it. Its an easy sell taking this approach.

One of the objectives of the National Iranian American Council, of which Trita Parsi is president, is to "Foster greater understanding between Iran and the United States by helping to enable Iranian-Americans to serve as a natural bridge between both peoples." Yeah, I'm sure the title alone of the book, "Treacherous Alliance: The Secret Dealings of Iran, Israel and the United States" will do just that.

I was both relieved and saddened by the interview. Relieved by the fact that there are some people in American public life who are capable of rational thought on subjects like Iran, but saddened by the fact that such rational thinkers never seem to be given a public platform. Why aren't interviews like this shown in the mainstream corporate media? I know why Fox doesn't, but what about the other networks?
