Back off a little.

I despise this show. I hope the producers are run to jail. It was this attitude that allowed me to find your post. I am a US citizen, however, and was a little offended by the nationalist tone of your post, and I am confused by the revolutionary comments in the signature. Condemning torture on one hand and then advocating revolution in the next sentence following a call for government involvement all leave me a little confused. I'm heading to your website to see if I can get a grasp at the enigma of you.

It's ironic that Number 6, if you get the reference, aka Cliff, in Series 1, was the most uncooperative and rebellious, but also that he was the first to really crack psychologically under the pressure.

Seriously, though, if this is what happens to people who are voluntarily present and in no real danger, I can't imagine how it must be for the prisoners of Guantanamo suffering years of mental and physical torment of an incomparable nature with no red "get out of jail" button to end it.

Not so fast on the compassion piece. Is it not through suffering that we understand compassion? I'm pretty sure that this is fundamental to Buddhism. Don't worry, I'm not saying that this show promotes any internal deep exploration, but I though it important to note that one does not know compassion without understanding suffering itself and the suffering of others.

Ok, I read about the TV posting down there and the Canadian guy. What is with these people. Ok, the TV guy has a point but I am an avid reader. I also collect books. But, iI still enjoy the TV. Its not about what certain things you do, its about what you do to the last detail. Everything you do, not just a small part. Also, I do believe that some people (not all people) think about the TV show that they just saw and think about what would make it better. I do believe that that emotes imagination. As for the Canadian guy, go suck it. Most people in Canada speak with a French accent and yet they still act like thugs. You see some guys walking down the street with 2 girls in each arm and drinking beer. yet when they leave they do the double-cheek kiss nonsense. Not very gangster if you ask me. You totally just mixed American culture with French and Italian. Find something that the Canadians can call there own. Like a certain style of music or a new fashion trend. Might I remind you that the way your country is influenced heavily by America. From Hollywood to the runway. Besides, we're all human and the number one sin for all humans is greed. Humans are greedier than any other animal in known existence. So greedy that we will do anything for $50,000 and the producers know that they can get a lot more money by marketing the show. So there, I've voiced my opinions about the show. I love it and i am greedy enough to try it. Even though I will get pushed to the edge of what I truly am. Stop saying bad things about other countries when you have nothing good in yours to back up what you are saying. "Pewwww! American scum. They are so greedy. We Canadians are the perfect race and if you are not Canadian than you are not good enough!" Well Canadian man, get a life. Find a girlfriend. Live a happy life in Canada. But don't dis America because we have Masochistic taste in TV shows. Get a life.

After watching this show, I have decided that it highlights both the best and worst aspects of subconscious humanity. These contestants know that they can leave anytime they want, but with Fox persuading them to continue with the honour of being on TV and also the somewhat small $50,000 reward, the contestants would rather forget their own survival, moral and social instincts, which is exactly what they show aims to do. However, the show also strips its contestants back to their basic, primal mentalities, allowing them to see past the material falseties of our modern world, to see the true values of life and themselves, which I believe we all should do at some stage in our lives. But I believe people who do so should do so consciously, not by being tricked into doing it by money hungry TV executives. Very interesting concept with conflicting moral issues that cancel eachother out, leaving all that's left in the show to mindless, but entertainingn television.

It would be funny in the next season if one contestant went totally crazy and the show had to be canceled due to ethics violation or animal cruelty or human self torture for the enjoyment of one contestant

What would happen if a true psychotic entered this game and went truly crazy, and opened the door to a mental disorder that the shows creator would dread. A true psycho would love to be in this show and get in tough with his psychotic personality.
