Abolish the CIA

Time is right to ABOLISH the CIA and start from scratch.
Recover billions and billions of hidden dollars.
Hire back the best and the brightest under a more accountable service, loosely
based on MI-5/MI-6.

Drastically reduce DHS, cut redundant departments, place tighter controls and
accountability to FBI, ICE, etc.

Cancel all contracts to private mercenaries, permanently; pass a bill outlawing any
funding of mercenary activities.

Finally, in honor of RS McNamara, Cut funding to Pentagon by 90%, forcing them to
"find" the hidden/misplaced billions in taxpayer money.

Taxpayers need to revolt against these and all abusers of our tax dollars. Our work
is cut out for us, as seemingly hopeless and sisyphean as it seems.

Between publications on useless spending by the military, consideration of Palin as a presidential candidate, never ending turf wars between different government agencies, a Congress that seems incapable of voting for anything without pork in it and this I'm beginning to believe that the United States continues on in spite of its government not because of it.

Wow. So the CIA admits that it's been lying, and Republicans are going to ignore that fact because they'd rather beat up on Pelosi over the whole torture busniess, because if they recognize the fact that the CIA lied, then it could be that the CIA mislead or lied to Pelosi, putting her in the clear. And they don't even want to beat up on Pelosi because, you know, torture is BAD, but because they want to prove that some Dems were in on and approved of Bush's torturing ways, that it wasn't just Republicans. It's shit like this that makes me seriously consider a job in Europe after I finish grad school...

Has everyone forgotten that good ol' W and Cheney lied so much, it was no secret by the end of their administration. It is probably the only thing this administration excelled at beyond every one's expectations.
