 <description>&lt;p&gt;Maybe there were many things tried that didn&#039;t work - I think Thomas Edison has a quote about that - but even if, as you say the New Deal didn&#039;t fix the depression fully, it sure as hell restored some dignity to the people of this country through the CCC and others. It also produced some large scale works that continue to provide value to this day (Columbia river valley). Look what dismantling/diminishing vital parts of that &#039;huge&#039; government has gotten us today.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;More FDR worship. Funny, my research about the New Deal has revealed many things that didn&#039;t work, reduced civil liberties, created corruption, and didn&#039;t really fix the depression. WWII did that. It did usher in a non reversible huge gov&#039;t. But it seem FDR is viewed as some sort of all benevolent god.&lt;/p&gt;
