Would you dare write about Obama's (the guy at the top of the ticket) complete lack of foreign policy experience? A guy who shied away from Iraq and Afghanistan, has served only 3 years in the US Senate (all three of which he was running for president)and fewer presidential credentials than even Palin, should be under a lot closer scrutiny.

I thought Mother Jones was suppose to be "Smart, Fearless Journalism." There is nothing courageous about this journalism - just the same old boilerplate Liberalism.

teh truth, you may want to take that up with Barack Obama, who has been saying lately that the troop surge "succeeded beyond our wildest dreams", in reducing the level of violence in Iraq.

But he still opposes it.

On the other hand, he wants to send thousands of more troops into Afghanistan to quell the rising level of violence there. So it looks like "American Empire" is going to continue no matter which RepubliCrat we elect.

I'm doubtful myself of the success of the surge, it mayhap could just be that the very definition of a "skirmish" was boosted up a bit so that it seems many less "skirmishes" have been happening as of late and it seems the surge has worked
