Friday Cat Blogging - 10 July 2009

| Fri Jul. 10, 2009 11:19 AM PDT

I had a lot of pictures to choose from this week. I'm not sure why I chose these, but they were nice summery outdoor pictures, and I liked them. Maybe I'll use some of the others next week. In the meantime, enjoy the weekend, everyone.

The pictures were missing for a moment

but now they're visible.
Why is Inkblot hiding? What's he afraid of? Domino ain't scared.

catnip?

That looks like catnip between Inkblot and the camera. No wonder they spend so much time staring into space.

Thersites: There's a bug in

Thersites: There's a bug in our software that sometimes causes posts to go up with no text. Very annoying, as you can imagine. When that happens, I have to recreate the post and republish it. In the meantime, there's a title but no post. Anandine: We do have some catnip plants in the yard, but not ones that big. If we had catnip plants that size, Inkblot and Domino would probably be stoned out of their minds pretty much all day.

Difference between the kittehs ....

Domino sits upright like a sentinel; visibly on guard duty.

Inkblot (by contrast) seems more like he's on stake-out duty, trying to look incognito (ha-ha).

Anandine,

That is either catmint (a relative to catnip but not as pleasure inducing for kittehs but still nice enough to sit in the middle of the plant and sniff and nuzzle all day) or Russian sage. Kevin can you let us know?

Russian sage?

"Optikal" is that a Russian name? Signed that loyalty oath yet?

catnip

Most of our catnip grows only a foot or two high, but way in the back garden, where they get regular water beside the tomato plants and have little structure to lean against, they grow 5 or 6 feet high.

Kitties!

Thanks, Mr Drum. Your Friday Cat Blogging brings a smile to my face. The only thing that could make me smile more is if Sarah Palin really retires from public life. Permanently.

Beautiful pictures,

as always, of beautiful cats.
