From Tyler Cowen:

About a year ago, five or so people sent me links about chessboxing for "Markets in Everything."  I didn't think it was weird enough to merit inclusion in the series.  But now, with the addition of "Swedish" and "ladies" to the mix (or is it the "convivial party atmosphere"?), I think it is weird enough.

An idea who's time has come

I don't think every single combination of good things makes a better thing - but I think there is merit on confronting old stereotypes such as the stereotypes that boxers are stupid brutes and chessmaster are brilliant wimps.

As Heinlein would say, specialization is for insects.

And yeah, I acknowledge he was kinda sexists because of the times he lived in, but his concepts apply equally well to both genders. Who says that any one of us must be only one thing?
