The good news is we get somewhere as we keep up the pressure. We're succeeding in getting congressional Democrats and mainstream media to pay attention, and even people in the executive branch who are honest or self-preserving to get after the crooks. The bad news is the approaching end of the Bush administration is going to increase the force of the argument that scandals should be ignored because the people involved have so little time left. The counter argument is that if we don't jail or disgrace these people now, they'll haunt us in the future. Rumsfeld and Cheney worked for Ford and promoted the myth of Soviet superiority. Elliot Abrams and John Negroponte have blood on their hands from IranContra. Rove and Rice were discovered by Bush Sr.
So look at the thirtysomething and fortysomething faces of many of those caught in Bush scandals. If they don't pay the price for their malfeasance now, they'll be with us for decades doing the same things.
