Ron Paul, Darling of the Web Military?

| Mon Jul. 16, 2007 11:16 AM PDT

Check out these numbers. Ron Paul has received more donations money from employees of the Armed Services than any other GOP candidate in the 2008 race. It's really only a two-way race between the Libertarian Paul and the war hero McCain, who may have been hurt by the fact that he wants to keep servicemen and women in Iraq until everyone is dead, American, Iraqi, and otherwise.

Come to think of it, Ron Paul's call for America to stop "policing the world" might have unique appeal to our country's soldiers overseas. Anyway, here are the numbers.

Cand.: TOTAL [ARMY] [NAVY] [AF] [VETERAN]
Paul: 23,465 [6,975] [6,765] [4,650] [5,075]
McCain: 15,825 [6925] [6305] [1795] [800]
Romney: 3,551 [2,051] [0] [1500] [0]
Rudy: 2,320 [1,450] [370] [250] [250]
Hunter: 1000 [0] [1000] [0]
Huckabee: 750 [250] [0] [500]
Tancredo: 350 [350] [0] [0]
Brownback: 71 [71] [0] [0]
Thompson: 0 [0] [0] [0]

Now, from what I can gather, to be included in these stats a donor had to only put the words "Army," "Navy," "veteran," or what have you in their "employer" field when submitting a contribution. So these aren't the most exact numbers. But interesting nonetheless.

Also, looking at Ron Paul's financial numbers reveals that the dude is only spending a tiny, tiny fraction of his cash. Most of his publicity seems to come from internet folks seeking to interview him, in an attempt to explain or perpetuate his demigod status on the web.

You socialists had better be careful of guys like this. There's 4 groups of people who vote fascists:

1) The white people who are still hoping the fascists help them "get even" for what "those people" did to them.

2) The dumb-asses, with their mean imaginary friend telling them to vote fascist so they can "Help Jesus punish the fornicating harlots".

3) The goofy-ass libertarians that still fantasize about "small government". Most of these guys are white and fall into category one, anyway.

4) The pro military people that want `merica to have the world's biggest dick.

In case you've forgotten, the fascists and socialists have about 50% of the peasant vote.

So, for you socialists to win, you need a few percent from one of the 4 groups. Hilary and Obama scare the poop out of groups 1, 2, & 3. So, all you've got left is group 4. Ron Paul for VP?

John, you are obviously a nut case from the nonsense that you write. Go in for treatment and take your meds. They should have arrived on the 15th of the month. Check with the Post Office.

Good Job Ron! Founding Father material yessir!
This man will bring our country back. He has 100% total support from me, I will give anything to this guy all he has to do is ask.
Go Ron!!!!!

Focus more on winning the nomination. If Ron Paul loses the nomination, it won't matter who gave what. Become a delegate in your state!

I've followed his voting since the mid 80s. He votes against all military appropriations and all deployments of soldiers abroad without distinctions. Our lapdog media would characterize him as "extremely weak on foreign policy" or "extremely weak on military issues". But those conglomerates are also owned by those people who profiteer from our interventionist policies so this disinformation is understandable. In mediaspeak the only criteria for "foreign policy expertise" is your willingness to fling tons of taxpayer cash into expensive weapons systems and willingness to send "someone else" to micromanage other countries' internal politics.
The military is filled with "someone else" who endure the problems created by these profiteers. It is understandable why they would support someone with Paul's established voting patterns.

I'm a leftie - way left, even for a Canadian, but I would vote for Ron Paul.

He voted against the Patriot Act, voted against regulating the Internet, voted against the Iraq war.

He would get rid of the IRS and the Federal Reserve.

So, check him out, then join the Republican Party and make sure he gets the nomination.

Fortunately, I don't have to register as a party member to vote in the primary in my state (Indiana).

Ron has the distinction of being the first Repub candidate I'll ever have supported for prez, in 35 years of voting (I go back to when you had to be 21 to vote...)

I've been putting some money into his campaign, too.
This is the first guy from a "big two" party I think would REALLY make a difference!
