John McCain is at the 68th annual Sturgis Rally at Buffalo Chip campground in South Dakota today. It's got beer, semi-naked gals, and bikers — lots and lots of bikers. When those bikers showed their appreciation for John McCain by revving their engines, he reportedly responded:
"I recognize that sound. It's the sound of freedom."
What? Either he meant the freedom of the open road or John McCain is completely incapable of understanding anything (or even hearing sounds) outside the prism of our transcendental struggle against radical Islam.
Which may be what some Americans are looking for in a president. I dunno.
By the way, McCain also encouraged his wife to participate in Buffalo Chip's beauty pageant, which, according to CNN, is "an infamously debauched event that's been known to feature topless women." Classy.

You guys are beginning to sound like Evangelical Republicans with comments indicating you've got some big problem with semi-nudity... Running down Harley riders, to boot, with the tongue-in-cheek "Classy" remark.
Maybe you ought to whip up an anti-nudity article.

seems like some pretty good campaigning to me. sure, it's cheesy and lame, but what campaign stop isn't? and getting wood over revving engines while your wife participates in a beauty pageant is precisely the sort of think you need to be doing to distract voters from the fact that you're 71 years old. smart of mcccain. scary as hell, but smart.
and by "freedom" i suspect he was referring to american-made harleys and the notion of individuality and personal freedom attached to motorcycling. don't overthink this.

I don't think obama and his baby mama would fit in very well, since they don't have arugala at Sturgis, and his wife can't be proud of anything that appeals to Real AMERICANS..!!!
