It Finally Happened: Reporter Assaulted at Palin Rally

| Fri Oct. 17, 2008 9:00 AM PDT

This was a long time coming. A reporter in North Carolina was assaulted at a Palin rally when he tried to interview Obama supporters who were protesting on the scene.

I sidled up to one of the Obama supporters and asked why they were there, what they were trying to accomplish.
As he was telling me a large, bearded man in full McCain-Palin campaign regalia got in his face to yell at him.
"Hey, hey," I said. "I'm trying to interview him. Just a minute, okay?"
The man began to say something about how of course I was interviewing the Obama people when suddenly, from behind us, the sound of a pro-Obama rap song came blaring out of the windows of a dorm building. We all turned our heads to see Obama signs in the windows.
This was met with curses, screams and chants of "U.S.A" by McCain-Palin folks who crowded under the windows trying to drown it out and yell at the person playing the stereo.
It was a moment of levity in an otherwise very tense situation and so I let out a gentle chuckle and shook my head.
"Oh, you think that 's funny?!" the large bearded man said. His face was turning red. "Yeah, that's real funny…" he said.
And then he kicked the back of leg, buckling my right knee and sending me sprawling onto the ground.

There is a edge of fascism in the Palin base, and if they are frustrated, they will resort to violence.

There will be more.

I'll bet Palin or McSame won't say jack about it...shameful.

Funny...they now cling to Palin like they use to cling to guns and religion.

While the Democrat-leaning media continues to scare undecided voters with bedtime stories about some mythical angry McCain supporter whom nobody has seen, here is a real district attorney's complaint documenting an unprovoked assault by an enraged Democrat against a McCain volunteer in midtown Manhattan: "Defendant grabbed the sign [informant] was holding, broke the wood stick that was attached to it, and then struck informant in informant's face.

The Republican party I knew 30 years ago would never have included the types of people who would be screaming racial or terroristic insults. I married into a Republican party. While I did not agree with their politics, they would never have condoned the behavior of McCain and Palin and their supporters in this election. So what happened to the Republican party.....did they go downhill intellectually to get on the same level as George W. Bush? The Reppublican party started out in the 1850's as an anti-slavery party. Wonder if some of these, pardon the term, rednecks know that? Probably not. I live now in a mostly Republican area and I know who they are.....sorry, they are rednecks and some racist.

Did anyone see the awesome digs buried in the Family Guy last night?! The Nazi uniforms had McCain-Palin 2008 buttons! That was funny... That wasn't the only one but the best.

Wow - a fascinating, non story of a fake "claim".

Why are you dolts not posting Tito "the construction worker"'s smack down of your resident twat David Corn.

It will hit Fox News tonight - whereas 3 times the liberal audience from 8PM-9PM will see it????

Hahaha, you pathetic she-men are hysterical. The "Bradley Effect" will have your skirts in a bind. To think white women will vote for a liberal black man in America is just funny. Keep front loading your "polls, opinions" and pre election celebrations.

Its ok, the >80 IQers who represent the majority of America and ironically - majority of non liberal's will come through.

Tito owned your ignorant ass Davey...
