Austan Goolsbee: Not Long for the White House?

Austan Goolsbee, who is on the president's Council of Economic Advisers, is pretty funny (although he takes a while to get going). But as Goolsbee acknowleges at the end of his routine, these jokes aren't exactly safe for politics. If some of this stuff gets picked up on cable news, he could be in trouble:

The "afterthought muttering" style of comedy has gone the way of Paula Poundstone, but Goolsby still nailed it. Perhaps it's the unique combination of position of authority and balls enough to do a little boat rocking. They played his "greatest hits" on NPR yesterday. It's a shame he's not funny enough to keep trying the comedy thing cause he will probably not survive the blowback from this
