Rocket Science

As bombs burst in the air, Israelis and Palestinians find common ground in the inescapable logic of war: "It's your fault I have to kill you."

tasteless and insensitive. at least wait til it's over.

But true.

Disgustingly - and perfectly - accurate. If only they each saw the futility of continuing their ruinous actions.

Very accurately described, both have to stop their aggressions, but in war and peace times.

this is pretty gay but i like the idea.

Do you really feel that is accurate? As much as this tries to show both sides it leans on the Hamas side, by portraying Israel as the deep voiced bigger rocket you are sending the message that Israel is wrong in this particular war.
However, I believe, as do many other countries and medias, that this war is the clearest case of Israel being on the right side.
Why does the Hamas rocket say that it is winning, and also notice that the Israel rocket is the only one to "lose" the debate. I.e. when Israel replies "touche"
If only this was the case that Hamas was even close to as civilized as the rocket portrayed them. The video only shows how Hamas endangers their own civilians, but now how they train and teach hate and violence.
It's a cute clip, but don't look at this for answers regarding the war. Do some real research.

Ya Gilboord, do some research...

how about we stop taking sides and respect our troops who have sworn to defend our country, not occupy another.

The truth hurts--and in this case, produces laughter.

And I wonder if Israel understands that only a tiny fraction of the world supports/understands their disproportionate "attack" on Gaza. It's shocking and sad really. And this genius cartoon captures that brilliantly.

Agreed Tony!

What on earth is meant by the comment "this is pretty gay"? It makes no sense whatsoever. I assume it's some kind of insult ....

I'm confused.

The cartoon is pretty good, methinks.

This cartoon is a childish attempt to rehash the old saw that "both sides are at fault and both sides need to stop the violence." I say childish because it ignores the rather adult themes that come when you listen to or watch the information that comes out the mouths of the adults involved. The grown-ups on the Hamas side, like the little scrappy rocket, continue to spout the line about “if even one of us lives, it will be a victory!” They remain committed to the destruction of Israel, and the children’s TV shows endorse and encourage their children to die for the cause.

Israeli grown-ups are showing how things came about, how land troops are used to minimize civilian deaths, which would not be necessary if Hamas didn’t hide their launchers and missiles in schools, mosques, and hospitals, and apartments swarming with civilians. The mutual cry of “You kill civilians” is right as far as it goes; but Hamas TARGETS civilians, where Israel is targeting the launch and storage sites of missiles. That there are civilians there who suffer and die is not celebrated in Israel. But when civilians die because of Hamas’ efforts, there is dancing in the streets. There are video clips of Israeli missiles whose trajectories are altered mid-flight when it becomes apparent that there are civilians around their targets. Pick your friends.

The real cartoon was published a couple of years ago with the Israeli soldier with his rifle in front of a baby carriage, protecting it, and the Palestinian soldier with his rifle hiding behind a baby carriage, using it as a shield. Fiore’s cartoon is fatuous, simplistic, and misleading. Oh, and I didn’t think it was funny, either.

Right on the ball.
History is the opium of the armies

Thank you Joel for your support of Israli defense tactics. They are in a precarious position when it comes to civilian casualties and the media is so unfair about it. I am interested in identifying the cartoon you referenced. I was sent one recently and wonder if it is the one you refered to. I am courious why you labeled it fatuous, simplistic, and misleading. Thanks, regardless of your explanation!

Regarding my comment on Joel's comments ... I misunderstood. Fiore's cartoon is the video rockets arguing. I thought Fiore was being credited for the baby carriage cartoon. My bad. Sorry.

JUDE;
Media unfair? Are you serious? They don't show 5% of the atrocities the IDF is committing EVERY DAY!I feel for you though, you don't have a clue.

So melanoma rates have been rising steadily with sunscreen sales...what's in sunscreen? The skin absorbs a large percentage of what is put on it, could the fun chemicals in the sunscreen be causing major health problems? Follow the money and you'll be amazed at what you'll find.
