Mother Jones and its parent organization, the Foundation for National Progress, are committed to building and maintaining a diverse and welcoming workplace. To help facilitate the ability for all applicants to participate in this program, all interns receive a $1,000 monthly stipend supported by a grant from the Irving Harris Foundation. Fellows receive $1,400 per month.

There are also ongoing in- and out-of-office paid work opportunities for interns to supplement these stipends.

The rate for that work is $12.15/hour.
