On Thursday, I went on MSNBC to talk about the nation’s jobs crisis, and in particular the permanent, graying class of unemployed Americans, many of whom comprise the country’s 6.1 million long-term unemployed workers (jobless for six months or more). The interview features Rick Rembold, 56, of Mishawaka, Ind., who was the focus of my story, “Unemployed: Stranded on the Sidelines of Jobs Crisis,” about long-term unemployment and the myriad impacts it has on workers, their spouses, even their children.
